cottage gardening with herbaceous plants
Sat 25 June - Sun 3 July
The soft, rural Devon landscape lends itself to traditional English cottage gardening, so come and choose from our selection of cottage garden plants. Roses, hollyhocks, delphiniums, foxgloves, daisies, are well known cottage plants but there is a host of other herbaceous plants that create colour, height, form, texture and that sense of lushness found in a typical cottage garden. Whether you live in the countryside, by the sea or have a town plot, come and be inspired. Cottage gardens usually provide lots to interest beneficial wildlife and pollinators too, such as bees and butterflies.

gardening with conifers
Sat 10 - Sun 18 September
Conifers come in all shapes and sizes, and shades of green and gold, and provide year round interest and form in a garden. They can be grown as specimen plants, mixed with border plants and of course make wonderful hedges as well as windbreaks in coastal areas. Come and see which conifers will work best in your garden, how to care form them, and their preferred soil conditions. Ask for our leaflet on growing and selecting conifers.
Grow and display your own pine cone collection!
